Reviewed from notes. Had on-tap at Peg's. Served in a Peg's snifter glass.
A: Opaque, dark brown to black, small tan head, no visible carbonation.
S: Big sweet sticky malt, red wine (cabernet?) and oak.
T: Follows the nose. Big dark roasty stout with some red wine and oaky charred barrel. Fairly dry finish with the tannins, but in a beautiful, tasty battle with the sweet malts.
M: Thick sticky mouthfeel, heavy bodied, low carbonation sensation. Alcohol is noticeable but doesn't detract.
O: Wow, this was tasty. And was my favorite of the D.O.S. varietals (Rare, RareR, Funky, Wine).
