A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a bright yellow color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of grapefruit, lemons. Taste is tart, lemons, some salt, hints of grapefruit, Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

I got a late start on this past Sunday's NBS (Week 774) & I did not finish up my DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure as planned. 8=( Further, I have promised that next week's NBS (Week 775) will be dedicated to the wonderful beers sent to me by @jkblr who seems to have a real handle on my drinking habits. CANsparency is key in these things! As a result, I am going to CANcentrate over the next few days on eradicating everything that would have CANbined to form the finale of the DelMarVa (+ DC) adventure. Sit down, strap in & hang on. It's gonna be a wild ride!
Speaking of Wild, thanks to staying with BAL & MD, I now have a Leipzig Gose as my next beer! If this keeps up, I'm going to get my status as a hophead in good standing revoked! 8=(
From the CAN: "Double Dry-Hopped Gose-style Sour Ale".
Well, this is a little more like it! Salt & hops, now we're talkin'. First, though, I needed to do a little inCANgitation, just to make sure that any flocculate was back in suspension. Next, I
Crack!ed open the vent in order to begin a solid, heavy-handed C-Line Glug. This resulted in the formation of just over a finger of fizzy, foamy, soapy, bone-white head that roiled its way into wisps. Color was a deeply-hazy/lightly-cloudy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose smelled just the way I wanted it to - slightly tangy, slightly salty & kinda hoppy. This promised big things! Mmm. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but not far past it. The taste was really nice - loads of grapefruit, plenty of salinity & just enough tartness to keep be from just downing the whole thing in one fell swoop. Mmm. Man, I just kinda went into Zen-mode in drinking this one, savoring the flavors without giving a whole lot of thought to any of it. It was a really tasty version of a Gose, IMHO. Finish was dry with a hoppy saltiness that was unstoppable. Mmm. YMMV.

Possibly the tastiest gose I have had yet, and one of only three that I've had that did not include a fruit.
L: Pours with a big sudsy white head. With the large bubbles, the peach nectar hue of the body gives the head a pale yellow glow. The body itself is almost as opaque as peach nectar, but with no visible sediment or pulpy bits. Head dies completely after a minute, but for a gose, the retention is excellent, and it even left a few speckles of lacing around the glass.
S: Mmm, very tropical. I get aromas of passion fruit, lemon, giant mango, mandarin, yellow grapefruit, rhubarb, and guava, which blend with a dry grassy white wine funk, like a sauvignon blanc. There's a hint of saltine cracker to the finish, but no real malt notes to speak of, and no herbal hop notes, except lemongrass and a touch of coriander.
T: Outrageously tasty. Lemon and passion fruit forward, for sure. Mango, grapefruit and guava make for some nice middle palate undertones. This kinds stretches out of the tart into the sour territory, which may be off-putting for some, but I think the saltiness balances it out perfectly.
F: So refreshing. Crisp, clean, bubbly... with just a dash of dry hoppy citrus bitterness on the finish... perfect.
O: As I said before: primo stuff. If you like light sour ales, this is a real treat. Cheers!

10oz pour into a snifter at a local restaurant. Hazy light gold color, with foam white head and decent retention. First aromas we're citrus hops. Upon first taste, the tart hits, followed by a hint of salt then a bit hop bitterness. I would want a bit more tart and salt but this is a tremendous beer. Paired it with some shrimp tacos which enhanced the flavors of both. The tart played well against mango salsa and the the shrimps saltiness worked well with the subtle salt in the brew.

Tastes great only downfall is not enough saltiness for a gose. But still a wonderful slighty hoppy sour.

This is a fantastic hopped gose. Getting strong tangerine and citrus flavors that compliment the pucker wonderfully, very little salt, this almost tastes like a sour pale ale. Such an easy drinker, so juicy, really impressive.
