this one is getting back to basics a little bit for these guys, who have been about as far out there and busy as you can beer making beer over the last little while. this is a new school but fairly well refined american ipa, and its a mighty good one. golden and glowing in the glass, an inch of white head resting on top, and a bursting aroma of what i perceive to be mosaic and a few others, juicy, with pineapple and orange peel essence, as well as a light malty sweetness, honey-esque, balanced and bold and pretty all at the same time. the flavor is great too. i still think mosaic leads the way, it has that fresh vegetal tropical vibe, and there isnt a ton of bitterness to finish it. obviously dry hop focused, and nice in that its not so hopped up that the malt base cant be appreciated. slight cat urine thing going on here with the hops, but i have learned to channel that into a fruitiness mindset, and i am getting pretty good at it, so it doesnt bother me at all. long finish although its not sweet or super bitter, it just hangs out, oily, and feeling a little bigger than it really is. freshness is awesome here, full bodied feel, and simple beer really, but i like them putting something out like this, its been awhile! well done, on trend, but expert in quality. stillwater always does it for me, no matter what the beer!
