Bright pinkish/purple with two fingers off pink foam. Reminiscent of a berry pie. Some vanilla/rummy notes but the berries are the star of the show. Nicely balanced, not overly tart. A little heavier bodied than one might expect from a sour beer, most likely due to rolled oats in the grain bill. Overall a solid sour. A great place to start for those beginning to venture into sour beers.

My first Stillwater beer, it will not be my last. Excellent!

dead sexy pinkish red brew with a nice head from the psychedelic can, this is some of the first stillwater beer i have seen in idaho, and i am hoping its a sign of more to come! its really cool stuff, wild blueberries, oats, lactose, and some neat bacterial tang without being real acidic, i could drink a bunch of these. the berries are fresh and tart to me, lightly tannic, and softly sweet, especially with the lactose. there is what appears to be a dry hop on it too, a sort of combined fruitiness that cant all be from blueberries, i get rose wine and pineapple behind the blueberry, maybe lemon too. the souring is minimal and really clean, just a quick pucker before the starchy oat body fills it in, just for a flash, which makes it curiously refreshing. this is not an uncommon mix of ingredients, oats and milk sugar and fruit in a kettle sour, but the way they combine and pop in and out and present themselves as a unified whole in this instance is absolutely unique, things seem ordered and prioritized and timed in a new way, and its great. there is definitely a vinous element to this, and there is a wonderful decadence the whole thing even though its not sweet late. clever beer, better than what everyone else seems to be doing with the same ingredients, i loved this!

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but was just released. Pours fairly hazy deep ruby reddish/pinkish orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy blueberries, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, biscuit dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of blueberries, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy blueberries, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, biscuit dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy blueberries, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, currant, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, biscuit dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of blueberries, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tart/sourness, and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/sourness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly crisp/acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6%. Overall this is an awesome fruited milkshake sour. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of blueberries, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish; not overly lactic. Awesome balance of juicy/jammy blueberries, and Lacto complexity; with a nice lactose and oat/malt backbone against acidity. Mild residual sweetness with crisp acidic dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example as expected of the brewery.
