Wow...I love ginger, and this is something else. The ginger notes and the spicy bite are memorable and lasting. The beer, poured from a tall aluminum can, is dark, thick, and intense-looking, capped with a dense tan head. The aroma has coffee and heavily roasted grain notes. The ginger, though, comes out in the taste. Wow.

12/18/18 canning, an imperial stout featuring ginger, chili peppers, and peppercorns...
Pours dark cola-colored but stands pitch black in the glass... Center-pour into a nonic pint produced a slim finger of dark tan foam that slimmed into a foamy collar... On the nose, plenty of traditional stout aromas of chocolate and coffee are underscored by something herbal and hot - even the nose knows... And sure enough, on the sip, a nice sizzle of heat infiltrates the stout... I love chili peppers and the like in stouts with a couple of possible caveats: one, not part of a dumping ground for ingredients, and two, the heat is appreciable... And this beer hits both marks - seems like "heat-inducing" ingredients are the sole additive here, and yeppers - that tingle is palpable... Sweet chocolates and subtle black coffee flavors and char serve as the framework for a nice sear of peppery heat... This is no Crime or Punishment, nor is it Habanero Sculpin level either, but it's close... I'm thinking the rich stout enrobes the palate somewhat and abates the strong spices... Body is full and soft, smooth - but with that tingle and sting of heat... A real nice stout, delivering as expected...
