really special stuff here, one of the most expensive beers i have bought in years, but the others were so great and with this being champagne method, how could i not? i kind of wish they did them all like this, heavy glass, mushroom cork, wire cage, black foil, full on traditional, so much life to this, not that the others were flat, just that this really sings, stays clear in the bottle until the very end, and seems more complex on the yeast side too, the evolution in the bottle is real. a little deeper in color than expected, brassy golden more than yellow to straw, fizzy as hell with a champagne head high rising, fast settling, and the bubbly but without head, radiant clarity, looks awesome. the nose and flavor show heavy wine character, more than just the riesling fruit but also from them ferment, its wine yeasty at the same time that its wild beery and bretty, tannic and oaky too, very much like a champagne and beer blend, saison elements, esters, green grape and green pear, wet doughy character, green strawberry, hay, pils malt, its got a whole lot happening. there is cool earthy funk here, grassy vibes, farmy but so refined, this combination is rare, and again i wish they did all of these with this method. effervescent to the max, worthy of a birthday, and anniversary, or a holiday, its just special and regal, and the alcohol showing through is fully appropriate. really immaculate beer here, in a league of its own, i want more like this, a red grape one would be a banger. the extra alcohol compared to the others is not out of place. worth the hefty price tag...
