Wavvy Sawtooth – from Stillwater Brewing. A 16 fl oz can was purchased from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA on 08/12/23 for $ 5.00 (Including tax), $ 0.3125/fl oz. Reviewed 05/01/24 (Review 3210). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom rim of can stamped “EO61 09/15/22”. Stored at 34 degrees at home. Served at 48.0 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 54.3 degrees F.
Appearance – 4
First pour – Pale straw (SRM 2), cloudy.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), opaque. Under direct light, same with lots of white precipitate. Rear-lite, same with minimal penetration at the edges.
Head: Large (Maximum 5.3 cm, aggressive center pour), alabaster, low density froth, average retention, dropping to a 0.7 – 1.0 cm jagged crown. Thin, irregular pieces of lacing remain on the glass as the first head drops. Second pour produces a uniform 1.1 cm head.
Lacing – Wide band of small to medium bubbles. See also above.
Aroma – 4 – Initially lime. No malt, no yeast, no alcohol (8% ABV as marked on the label).
Flavor – 4 – A very dry beginning with lime. No malt, no yeast. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Mild gastric warming. Ends with lime.
Palate – 4 – Medium; creamy but oddly dry; lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 4 I have had few (if any) IPAs that tasted and smelled like lime. I like it.
