Appearance - coppery orange pour with a finger of standard white cover. That's gone pretty quickly, which is no surprise, as this generated very little bubbling when the growler was being drawn. Just a few stray wisps of suds now.
Aroma - wow, a lot of bourbon here. An occasional whiff of something pumpkin or spice related, but this is a very bourbon-forward nose.
Taste - no malt base that I can detect. Bourbon right outta the gate, and I'm thinking 'wait for the hot boozy burn, now', but it doesn't happen. Instead, the pumpkin flavor finds its way through. A nice blend of flavor. On the swallow, some vanilla and coconut flavors develop. Through it all, the bourbon is tasty but tame, not hot to me in the least. Excellent blend and control. Almost has a pie-like crusty flavor at the end.
Mouthfeel - pretty average on all counts here, which works for style.
Drinkability - this is excellent pumpkin beer. The balance is great, the abv is well-hidden, I am impressed how the bourbon is so present without burning or taking over. Great fireside beer or even for watching Rangers/Cardinals Game 3.
