Delicious geuze. Perfectly balanced fruit flavor with the barrel opening up over a bit of time while the beer warmed. My first taste of 3 Fonteinen was a great way to start. Found a bottle while in Rome, Italy at Ma Che Siete Venuti A Fà and might be the only time I can find one. Amazing brew.

From a bottle at the brewery. If you want this, hurry up cos there's only 2 left here.
A brilliant pink with a thin pink head, this is gorgeous. The nose is insanely cherries, bright, sour, fruity, tannic with an excellent pit character that lends a mild almond note. Either it's age, or the 16/17 brewing season resulted in lambics with more of a bright lemony note. There's a touch of toasted oak present. The palate opens with a bright with soft but firm sour cherries, pie like but without any of the pie spices. There's a lovely blend of cooked and fresh cherries. A sour cherry explosion like no other, while retaining a unique expression. Drying, fruity, lemony, earthy and just near perfect on the finish, this beer is exceptional in every sense of the word.
The only experiences that deserve a 5/5 are ones that make you laugh with joy while moving you to tears. This beers delivers like few others.

I got to try this first at Sheltonfest and then again onsite at the lambik-o-droom. Clear pink. Juicy cherry lambic, a real lip smacker. They really know how to make good lambic and good use of fruit at 3F.

A 750ml bottle at 3 Fonteinen lambik-O-droom, blend n°39, season 16/17, bottled on 30th June 2017 with a best before date of 26th October 2037. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen ballon glass.
Appearance: A ruby red colour with a two finger creamy pink head that dissipated fairly quickly to a thin layer, while leaving some spotty lacing.
Aroma: Candied cherry, almonds, marzipan and oak.
Taste: Similar to the aroma, tart, sour, candied cherry, almond, marzipan and oak.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation.
Overall: Just amazing cherry juice and almonds.
