Well who knows, this is a review of Aarbei Oogst, 20/21, Batch 6. Consumed during the greatest tasting ever at Craft.

Pours that color that I find to be synonymous or heavily correlated with strawberries, even the haze to it. Hey check it out, this thing that looks like it has strawberries in it also smells like strawberries. The snozzberries taste like snozzberries!

The taste has the strawberry character in droves, tame acidity in the mouthfeel, the plastic strawberry thing that happens in wild ales didn't happen here. Same with the sourness, it was easy going. It didn't pop a lot of funky barnyard shit but they said it went into stainless steel first so I guess story checks out maybe.

There's been some cool strawberry beers (Ichigo Highway, Cascade) but I think this one elevates over that tier and is more on par with the Framboos like blend but now its just all strawberry. Usual struggle with price, but sometimes it feelsgoodman.gif to not be one of the poors.

750 ml bottle, as 3 Fonteinen Aardbei Oogst 2021 (season 21|22) Blend No. 77. Purchased at Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken, at an outrageous price. ABV is 6.5%. Hazy orange colour, moderate and shortlived white head. Distinct aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse / barnyard, strawberries and oak. Sour flavour of brettanomyces, strawberries, lemons and oak. A hint of solvent in the aftertaste. Not worth the high price.

Lightly foggy amber to copper with a moderately tall head of micro-fizz that dies down in lumps to a cleanly glossy, fluid surface.

Wild strawberry blooms all over the nose right away, exhibiting slightly seedy, jammy and vinous qualities before that distinct funk unique to this fruit delicately emerges in conjunction with zippy pops of an almost black pepper quality.

Characteristic of much of 3F's catalogue, the effervescent and zesty palate is funk forward at first, accented by a little minerality before returning to mild yard strawberry.

The medium-light body comes to a tingly, semi-dry finish that begs for another, and another.

unblended young lambic with an absolute to of strawberries, its so sick to be seeing some new beers from these guys hit the shelves here, albeit at stupid prices, this is really special stuff, definitely not as mature and funky as their geuze blends, this is more about the fruit to me, and it might be the best expression of strawberries i have ever known in any beer, downright amazing, huge thanks to my friends for being willing to crack this open to share! murky lightly stained pink, deeper in color than expected in terms of the grain influence though, not golden at all, fizzy like soda and high headed for a flash before it settles back to a thin white layer on top, effervescent and spirited to drink. the aroma is incredible, i know immediately how good this is going to taste. sweet and natural strawberries, a ton of them, and really good homemade jam, concentrated just a bit, ripe and summery, with the lighter animal funkiness of the lambic well behind the fruit, oak and wine character too, and some residual grain sweetness apparent. the flavor is epic, the fruit and the tartness of the lambic go insanely well together and despite it having some sugar, its also very balanced because of this. such a real strawberry profile, front and center, and lingering past the finish on my palate. plenty of oak, a fragrant cedar sort of spicy woodiness to this too, a hint of vanilla from the oak that really sets off the berry as it warms, and some nice rustic wild fermentation character that we have all come to love from these guys, even without the older lambic in the blend. impressive stuff, downright wonderful, i could have definitely drank the whole bottle myself which is rarely the case with these styles, tons of fruit but its what makes this special. beautiful and unique, i hope to get to drink this again someday...

Oogst 2020, Blend No. 6, 20|21. Darker golden body, nice white head. Rich and tart strawberry flesh with just a light touch of sweetness to help balance out the relatively mild acetic acidity. Oak, leather, bit of hay. Young lambic, not as complex. Medium body, good carb, strawberries.
