This first Zenne é Douro is a single barrel port lambik coming off a Niepoort barrel. On the 26th of December 2020, we received a beautiful port wine barrel straight from Vila Nova de Gaia, south of the estuary of the Douro river.
As with the classical sherry iterations, we let a jonge lambik sit for an additional year or so on a freshly emptied noble port barrel. Upon bottling, the weighted average age was almost two years. 100% 3 Fonteinen brewed lambik.

Clear golden amber appearance with a soft lingering surface collar. Lots of barrel and port upfront and throughout but very tastefully. Faint funk and sweetness. Smooth mouthfeel. Beautiful!
