Slightly hazy dark pink body (the haze is possibly due to my practice of not decanting Belgian beers).
Impressively earthy and funky on the nose. There's a hint of raspberry, but it doesn't stand out strongly.
Wonderful raspberry flavor on the palate, without overwhelming. Moderately sour, but more funky. Not quite as delicate as other fruited lambics. Drinks a bit fuller than the 5% ABV would suggest.

375ml bottle from the LCBO. $15 CDN. Bottled 19/07/2023. Fully organic. Listed at 6.3% ABV. 22-23 Vintage. Served cold into a tulip.
Appearance - Fairly hazy and murky deep salmon colored brew with no head. Not altogether too different from the colored of macerated raspberries.
Smell - Tartness with barrel, hints of vinegar and strong raspberry backing. Some funk too. Old must as well after a sip or too.
Taste - Super tart with vinegar, oak. Raspberries throughout and then come on stronger in the aftertaste. Very minimal sweetness. Almost a smokiness to the aftertaste too.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, low carbonation. smooth and finishes with a bit of a lucsious feel.
Overall - A very good lambic sure, but this one didn't quite emphasize the raspberry enough for my taste. Very tart and while there is a deep and complex aftertaste and feel, that lack of raspberry-ness makes this a glad to enjoy but not stocking up the cellar for it type of brew. I'll give the second bottle some more time to see if that makes a difference, but feeling very whelmed by Framboos.

At my lady Pamela's house; bottled and chilled, 375mL in a pint glass. From the Huron Church Rd. LCBO in nearby Windsor. My first beer from the Beersel, Belgium brewery. With Gracie the cat...

Name: Framboos
Brewer: Brouweij 3 Fonteinen
Location: Beersel, Belgium
Style: Fruit Lambic
ABV: 6.2%
Canned: 12 December 2019

I was fortunate enough to find this while I was in Barcelona, especially considering its age. I am using a tulip glass and serving the beer at 44 degrees. The pour created an airy, foamy, half-fingered head with no retention. The quick dissipation left no lacing on the glass. The color is reddish-brown with no clarity. The beer is not as murky as Homage, but it retains a brownish color with an interesting appearance.
Nosing the beer, I detect raspberries, lightly toasted malts, earthiness, barnyard funk, acidic acid, lemons, and a light yeasty note.
Lemons, berries, light toasted malts, acidic notes, barnyard funk, earthiness, a hint of phenol, wood, and leather dominate the first sip.
The mouthfeel is mouth-puckering sour, finishing crisp. The body is light and has low carbonation.
Final Thought: The beer has a sour component, yet it is well-balanced with the raspberries. The raspberry tartness, mixed with the beer's funky side, gives the beer depth and complexity. Still recovering from jet lag and a busy day, this is a fantastic finish.

2019/2020 vintage, 750 ml bottle. Clear pinkish amber brown, not much head. Smell is a mix of crisp acidity and bright fruit. There is so much range and depth here - the raspberries, the tartness, a bit of funk, just layered together in great balance. Light and tingly on the tongue. Wow, a stunning fruit sour.
