12oz can
Pours over a finger of dense white head into my can-style glass. Retention is very impressive, nearly a finger of head hanging around after 10 minutes. Initial lacing looks very sticky. Body is golden yellow, clear, with a hefty amount of bubbles coming up. Looks quite nice so far.
If I recall correctly, this is the first IPA Migration ever made, 10 years ago. The nose certainly fits the mold for that old school vibe, it’s straight forward, not the huge punch of tropical dry hops you see in IPA’s today; though they still try to advertise the latter in their description. Overall, light citrus, maybe some pine, a touch of malty sweetness, smooth. Also detecting a possible touch of DMS which would now be the second canned Migration beer with that issue. Overall, not terribly impressive on the nose, plenty of IPA’s made in even the 80’s have more character than this, not to mention the DMS.
Flavor has more hop character, and also more DMS. Definite pine and citrus, blanketed by more DMS. As the beer warms it gets a little out of control and borderline gross. Too bad! Gotta clean that up guys!
Mouthfeel has a nice bite from those hops, and mixed with the medium-high carbonation, this is quite crisp and refreshing. Body is light. Bitterness is somewhat assertive and lingers a bit. Sweetness is low, though the DMS presents itself a little sweet at times. Overall a nice mouthfeel.
Drinkability is ok at first, once it warms and the DMS comes out more, the drinkability becomes an issue.
Appearance turned out phenomenal. The lacing was thick and the head very resilient, lasting in a small fashion down to the bottom.
Overall this beer is pretty all over the place, at least in the rankings. At the end of the day it’s simply too full of DMS, and therefore not good.

Hazy deep golden with three fingers of cream color head. Rings and swathes of lace appear as the head drops.
Smell is tropical fruits some pine and plenty of bready malts.
Taste is tropical fruits some pine lightly dank green and bready malts.
Mouthfeel is medium with decent carbonation. The finish is slightly dry and lightly bitter.
Overall a tasty IPA. Pleasant for sure.
