Another NW Red Ale. Why can't breweries do a standard Red/Amber Ale without overly hopping the brew. It is not that these beers are bad my personal opinion is that if you want a hoppy beer go with an IPA or an IIPA.

Pours a partially cloudy, dark amber color. Thick three finger off-white to tan head forms on the beer. The head dissipates steadily until just a thin layer of foam remains on the beer. That quarter inch or so head remains for the rest of the drinking experience. Aroma has notes of pine soap, pine, some caramel malts, and some floral hops.

Taste follows the nose with notes of piney hops, soap, floral hops, and a distracting and rather unpleasant spicy, yeasty note. Caramel malt backbone. Moderate to marked bitterness on the finish. Feel is light to medium bodied.

Overall its a bit off, not a beer I would want to drink again

12oz can (dated 11/30/21) poured into 16oz tulip. poured a very cloudy reddish-amber color with well over an inch of off-white head that had very good retention and light-moderate lacing.

The nose had the expected semi-sweet malt base of the style, some floral hops, and a fruit scent that, if this were a Belgian-style brew, I'd chalk up to yeast, but it doesn't seem to fit here.

Pretty similar on the tongue. In addition to that out of place fruit, there's also a tartness that I hope is unintentional.

The body was fairly typical for the style; medium-light, smooth, and with a semi-sweet finish.

Drinkability was hampered by both of the off-putting fruit and tartness.

Overall, this is a sub-par brew. i suspect it would be a drainpour for most folks. Cannot recommend.

Look: Opaque deep ruby-red with a foamy beige head that swells up to 1-finger and slowly settles to a lid, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Grapefruit, pine sap and needles, orange, some rose petals, fir, warm bread, some biscuit, caramel, and some red apple skin
Taste: Pine and citrus combine forces and jump out of the gate, quickly followed by waves of bready malt, some caramel-like sweetness, and floral notes. The middle is laden with all sorts of dark malt depth and closes with another rush of pine and citrus, along with a good bite
Mouthfeel: Full, medium-high carbonation, and finishes with a nice, medium strength dryness
Overall: This is a delicious beer. I love a good hoppy red and this hits on all the right notes for me – pine, citrus, floral, dark malt depth, a good bite, and dry finish. I didn’t know these folks made this style of beer and was surprised to see it but now obviously pumped that I bought it. There will be more in the fridge soon

12oz can

Pours nearly two fingers of dense, creamy off-white head into my nitro glass. Retention is great, a healthy finger of head still remains after a few minutes. Initial lacing looks amazing. Body is a deep amber. Visibility is high when held to the light, with a medium-small amount of bubbles coming up. Looks wonderful so far, that head is beautiful.

Nose has a lovely touch of pine right up front, and big stone fruit notes as well. Rich malt character, with an appropriate candy sweetness. Almost has a fatty aspect to it too, like that of nuts or cake, the malts definitely have weight to them. This smells amazing, the malts carry it, but the hop flavors fight well for attention and that stone fruit blends right in.

Man, the flavor does not disappoint. Stone fruit, deep malt, perhaps a bit of toffee, and light pine that comes out in the finish. This is rich in the best way possible, with enough hop flavor to make it well balanced.

Carbonation sits perfectly at medium. Body has a little bit of weight to it. Bitterness is moderate - elevated, though aforementioned it is matched perfectly by the malts. A sturdy sweetness, but not anywhere near cloying. Wonderful mouthfeel.

Drinkability is fantastic. This is extremely tasty, balanced, and not too heavy.

Appearance turned out great. The head eventually dissipated, but the lacing made thick sheets all the way down.

The best beer Migration makes IMO, they could really be a force to be reckoned with if they wandered into different styles like this more often.
