12oz can
Pours a finger of white head into my can-style glass. Retention is average and the head fades within a minute or two, settling into a small film. Initial lacing however, looks very nice. Body is pale yellow, clear, with quite a lot of bubbles coming up. Looks decent so far.
Nose is very floral, with a touch of citrus, pine, and a small malty sweetness. I generally don’t care for this style because I feel it lacks any real character, but this smells decent, and pretty inviting.
The flavor however, is a little more like what I’m used to. Some sourdough malts, very dry, watery. Pine waves at this thing in the distant rear-view mirror. I just don’t know why this is a style.
Carbonation Is extremely high. Body is paper thin. Aforementioned, dry. Bitterness is low, but present. I mean, I guess this mouthfeel is ok for the style, but it’s backing up the narrative that the flavor laid out, and that’s not necessarily a good thing.
Drinkability is high, but again, it’s coming at a price.
Appearance turned out alright. Lacing was inconsistent, but not bad.
Overall there is just no flavor here. Pilsners and pale ales have light-years more flavor, at roughly the same ABV. This style does not need to exist, and this isn’t the best example even within that vacuum.
