Pours well over a finger of fluffy white head into my Willi glass. Retention is great so far, only losing about half of the head after a few minutes. Initial lacing looks wonderful. Body is a very cloudy orange. Looks pretty nice so far.
Nose is very citrus forward, loans of tangerine, like a shit load. Passionfruit as well, and a little spicy. Lots of proteins. Smells quite good, not really my preferred hop profile, but it seems pretty clean and refreshing for a double hazy.
Flavor has a pretty big punch to it. That tangerine comes through big time, a little bit of a hop zip/zest, malty proteins, and there is a small alcohol bite. All things considered this is actually pretty darn good.
Carbonation seems low, but the hops add a pretty big citrus hop bite to the feel, it’s appropriate and not at all offensive. Because of that character, the beer drinks pretty crisp and much lighter than is probably is. That said, there is certainly a decent amount of sweetness here, albeit pretty well balanced with the hop profile and moderate bitterness. A pretty nice mouthfeel, especially given the style.
Drinkability is very nice. It’s tasty, not cloying, and the alcohol bite mellows with time.
Appearance turned out really nice, lacing was thick all the way down.
Overall a really nice double hazy. Lots of flavor, with a solid, approachable mouthfeel.
