500ml bottle
Pours a finger of tan head into my snifter. Retention is decent and the head lasts a few minutes. Initial lacing looks quite nice. Body is a deep mahogany with low visibility. Looks good so far.
Nose has some astringency/light alcohol, stone fruit, bread - malty. Smells sweet, but surprisingly not overly sweet. With agitation comes notes of gingerbread and cinnamon. The stone fruit does some work, and the wood spices certainly bring this home. Very nice.
Cinnamon is in full force here, some vanilla as well. Definitely getting the Amburana wood as the primary flavor, good thing it tastes super good.
Carbonation is elevated. Body is surprisingly light - this is well attenuated, and relatively crisp. Bitterness is low. Very faint alcohol, hardly noticeable. Very nice mouthfeel.
Drinks super easy. Light and crisp, this is definitely a lager through and through.
Appearance turned out poor, the head died and there was zero lacing.
Overall this is a tasty beer. I’m generally not a fan of the style, but this is well attenuated and not at all cloying, while having enough perceived sweetness to avoid being dry. The flavor could use a lot more complexity, but I suppose highlighting the Amburana wood comes at a price.
