12oz can

Pours two fingers of creamy white head into my can-style glass. Retention is very nice, with half the head remaining after a few minutes. Initial lacing looks pretty nice as well. Body is a cloudy yellow, with minimal bubbles coming up. Looks very good so far.

Nose has light notes of wheat and lemon up front. Hops come out with time - citrus zest, faint tropical, dank, grass. All very subtle, as they probably should be, but there is a decent amount going on here. Overall smells elegant, inviting, and quite nice.

Definitely some citrus zest on the flavor, shades of tropical fruit come out over time. There is a pretty unpleasant finish though - tastes like stale hops, stale grain, or both. Cleans up a little bit over time, towards more of an earthy/dank hop flavor, but some of that off-ness still remains. Idk, there are some bright moments, but overall this is only ok.

Carbonation is a little over medium. Body drinks pretty light. Bitterness is elevated. Not sweet at all, even gets dry at times. Mouthfeel is fine.

Drinkability is ok, but that bitterness and dryness make for a sharp beer that can be a little much at times.

Appearance turned out very nice. Thick lacing all the way down, and the head survived in a small fashion as well.

Once this warms it kind just turns into a hodgepodge of hop flavors, there is a little too much going on, and the light body doesn’t really support it, nor do the flavors go well together. It’s definitely a little sharp, and it doesn’t have that malty backbone that I want in a hef. On top off all that it still has that odd back end. A heftier malt profile would go a long way in balancing this.
