Black Hearted Ale is a Black IPA, dark as night with a medium body and a bready malt profile from German Vienna malt. Huge additions of two types of hops Meridians and Centennials give the Black Hearted a caramelized tropical fruit and a spicy citrus aroma and flavor.

On draught at Bailey's, Black Hearted is dark, burnt brown with an off-white head leaving sheets of lace.
Smell is pungently hoppy, lots of citrus, a touch of fresh bread dough.
Taste is also fiercely hoppy, this sucker packs some punch in spite of the robust bready, roasty malt flavors. Hops are citrus and a little spicy as well, with a moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel is off-dry, a bit oily, medium bodied.
Drinkability is pretty darn good, this is definitely what I look for in the style, a dark IPA.
