Commerical Description:
Brewed in celebration of Drew Salmi's (beer curator for
Les Caves) golden Birthday, August 26th. Sterling and
Cascade hops are complimented by over 100 pounds of
fresh cut, unpasteurized Pineapple.
Had this one twice while in Portland...once on 9/1/11 at the Hawthorne Hophouse and a second time on 9/3/11 at Bailey's Tap House.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy straw yellow with a thin 1 finger white crown that displays moderate retention and lace. Looks closer to a wheat beer than an IPA IMHO.
Smell: Faint hint of pineapple with little to no hop presence.
Taste: Same as the nose but luckily more pungent.
Mouthfeel: Thick side of light bodied with medium carbonation that gives it a fair amount of crispness.
Drinkability: Sesionable and perfect beer to start your elimination of the Hair Of The Dog :)
