Purchased at Portland's Belmont Station for $4.98 on April 27. Poured from a bomber into a weizen glass in high elevation Libby, Mont. Reviewed live.
A- Two-finger cream-colored head. Rapidly eroding head down to a slight floater top. Murky brown color. Typical looking dunkel.
S- Raw yeasts, active and spicy. Banana, cloves, slightly musty and inviting. Very German, very good. Sweet and subtle.
T- Spicy flavor. Wheat, active yeasts, bananas and cloves. A well-constructed weizen with a cola-like twinge to it. Interesting and active flavors.
M- Biting carbonation, very wet and choppy sort of feel. Light bodied.
O- Delightful dunkel. Not perfect, but passable example of the style. Very pleased with Flat Tail's small batch attempts here. Bold and great for beer geeks.
