22 oz from "Lifesource" in Salem $5.49 Pours a slightly hazy deep golden coloured ale..small white head..small but persistent. Phenolic/alcoholic aroma like a stronger white wine,some fruitiness in the back ground. Taste is sweet yet balanced,semi dry finish,carbonation is nice but could be a touch more for style, alcohol is barely noticeable until the after taste. OK mouth feel does well. A reasonable attempt

Pours a hazy amberish yellow color in the glass. Just a little head but plenty spritzy in the mouth. Distinctly tangy on the tongue. A little fruit in the aroma. Some malty sweetness. An apple flavor, like real fermented cider, even to the bitter tang in the aftertaste. The Belgian yeast is not so prominent, but provides some drying as you sip.
The sharp edge is more than enough to keep the slight sweetness at bay. This is actually extremely drinkable. The sparkly tingle give it a champagne mouthfeel, and the pleasant mix of flavors is easy to drink. It doesn't taste strong at all, just a little acidic. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Market of Choice on 29th in Eugene.

Appearance- Pours up absolutely no head. No head retention. The body is a murky straw which glows a hazy lemon yellow when held up to the light. Obviously, there is no lacing.
Nose- At the moment, this is almost as nonexistent as the head. A light hint of bubblegum but really nothing else. A whisper of fruity esters, perhaps? More bubblegum and a hint of generic esters as this opens up more. Maybe a slight hint of spicy yeast.
Taste- Rather subdued as well but at least there is some flavor. Some bubblegum and yeast which contributes both spiciness and a slight bitterness. Lemon peel, some generic banana taste. Some hints of apple and orange but pretty much all of the fruit esters are very generic (somewhat chemical) in their taste. Very thin and flat tasting (a complete lack of carbonation does not help this at all). Not particularly flawed (except maybe for the bubblegum and generic esters) but definitely boring.
Mouthfeel- Quite light bodied and very disappointing as a result of the minimal carbonation.
Drinkability- It's inoffensive (maybe the bubblegum is a little offensive), thin, and watery with no obvious heat. It is seriously low budget- the price is the best thing about this beer. It's not enough to make it worth your while though.
Overall- Basically a forgettable beer. I have definitely had worse but as a representation of the style, this is a failure. Pay the extra money for a Duvel, or better yet, Damnation. Good Belgians are worth the money.
