Our Bottle Rocket Pale Ale pays tribute to Dr. Robert Goddard, the genius who invented the liquid-fueled rocket, not far from our brewery. 20 oz. Can. So...this one doesnt actually say "Bottle Rocket" I'm guessing they renamed it to just Rocket because it's in a can (?). But the can just says "Rocket" APA.

A dark-golden and amber color, pretty much clear liquid with a substantial white, bubbly foam topping. A decent amount of lace sticks around after the liquid and foam recedes.

The aromatics is rather bold, with very sweet and fruity, citrusy hop effect up-front.
A seriously freshly crushed up green leafy and lupilin stickiness makes the nose wonderfully pungent.
The malt and rye is slightly herbal and spicy with some darker, roasty grain aroma.

The locally sourced Valley danko rye malt really brings forth a darker, spicy toned grain flavor right to for front. Cripy edges and smooth finish in the feel and texture supplied by the excellent malty complexity that keeps the taste firmly on the ground. The Mosiac hop fruitiness, citrus bite and spicy, earth tones allows the Rocket to take off, blasting the edges of restriction for the style. No real bitter hop bite to this one, mostly fruity and spicy. An excellent combo of the hop and malt balance with a gentle and clean yeast charecter.

I feel like the level of hop complexity could reach into the ipa level, while the malt keeps it firmly planted in APA land. Either way, this is a well executed and charming version of the classic style.

This beer poured a hazy medium brown color, and followed up with a piney scent which resembled a nice northwestern IPA. The taste was crisp and refreshing but it had a somewhat strange aftertaste which kind of reminded me of coffee.

From a pint can dated 5/24/18 into a 20-oz mug.
A two fingered off white head sinks to one finger of froth. A thin head remained throughout the drink.
Slightly cloudy yellowed vintage maple shows some orange when held up to light.
Hops and yeast to the nose, Malty rich sweet taste balanced by bitter yet fresh hops.
Medium body heavy on carbonation which adds to the frothy texture.
Hoppier than most APAs, the CO2 accentuates and evens out the taste and mouthfeel as it warms.
Another hit from a favorite local brewery.

16oz. can served in a Willibecker. Canned 11/16/17. Pours a burnished gold with a slightly hazy clarity and loose, quarter, inch, bright white head. Nose is fairly subdued - notes of biscuit followed by citrus. Taste follows nose. Mouthfeel is light in body with a mild, even carbonation. Overall, sessionable and easy drinking but a little one dimensional.

Bronze with leggy snow. 3.75
Big onion and orange underneath. 3.75
Slight bread dough, apricot, musty tangerine, and grassy spice. 4
Soft, round, light. 4

Toned down hops + rye bite + soft body = super drinkable. Subtle, but interesting enough to stay on. Wormtown got skillz. 4.25

Pours a cloudy gold with good head and very thick lacing. Has a nice malty nose with citrus and hops. The taste is very clean and refreshing, sweet malt mixed with citrus hops and minor bitterness. A very nice APA, ultra refreshing and loads of flavor, I really enjoyed this beer. Light to medium feel, very smooth.

16oz tallboy can, sample from the brewery.

Nearly clear golden hued brew, lacing puts on a show as it leaves a trail down the glass. Citrusy, cedar, wild flowers, and grass in the nose. Quite crisp for a canned brew, smooth as well. Moderate body though the rye does leave a bit of chewiness. Ample bitterness, lots of citrus flavors ... pith and rind with some wild herbs in the back. Kiss of spice from rye, a bit bread underneath. Hop forward but still balanced. Great use of hop and even better use of the rye to make it a bit different. Could easily make room in my fridge for this.
