Growler filled yesterday, poured into a narrow tulip.
Pours a huge fizzy foamy bubbly 2 finger head that fades at a med pace but lots of bubbles streaming up to reinforce it, hazy light-yellowish straw pear color.
Nose is pretty nice, some mild doughy grainy notes, little funky yeast note, nice straw and creamy wheat, little effervescent sourness, lemony zest notes, another strange citrus fruit almost like hand of buddha but not quite that citrusy, just a light heavy citrus in the background, a little raw dough, and maybe even a touch of peppery phenols way in the background.
Taste starts quite tart, a lot more tart than I expected actually, a lemony tartness, with souring funk notes, into a big creamy wheat, also creamier than I expected, nice creamy doughy wheat, little cracker and raw sour dough like notes. Then into mild citrus again that is not quite lemon another heavier citrus but light, quite zesty like they put some other citrus zest in it that I can't label. Finish is a bit sticky and flemmy, tart slight mouth puckering, little doughy and grainy yeast notes lingering, and bit of more lemony notes.
Mouth is lighter bod, nice creaminess and sourness to it, decent effervescent carb, actually to the point where I almost want more but then I realize it would get distracting if it had more.
Overall very enjoyable for a hot summer day. Light and refreshing while full flavored. nice creamy wheat, nice doughy bready notes, big tartness that is quite nice, the only issue I have with it is probably the finish being a bit too flemmy feeling for a big summer beer. Either way this is quite nice for a hot summer day.
