DDark Roasted Brew is a decadent, stout-style beer featuring full-roasted coffee flavor reminiscent of freshly-ground beans and a creamy mouth feel. It’s also the first-ever beer brewed with Dunkin’ Donuts’ Dark Roast coffee beans.

Draft at the brewery
Decent creamy head, dark brown colour

Nose big roasted malts, little roasted coffee, toasted brown malts and cocoa, fudgey choc, lots of fresh coffee

Taste big roasted coffee, little burnt coffee, char, toasted and roasted malts, hint cocoa and caramel, bitter roast and bitter coffee, hint metallic in the background, fair bitter finish

Mouth is med bod, decent carb

Overall not bad, better than I thought it would be, nice beer decent coffee that's not too burnt

Enjoyed at the brewery on release at 11:28am.

A - Poured into a custom Wormtown Dunkin Donuts coffee mug presumably dark black hue with a thick one finger mocha head that fades to leave light lacing and a thin head.

S - Aromas of more dark roasted coffee beans than stout. Rich dark roast, little acrid roast. Faint chocolate notes, light vanilla, nice malt sweetness. Nicely aromatic with strong fresh roasted coffee qualities.

T - Taste is similar to the nose, loads of roasted coffee flavour. Nice lightly acrid bitter roast, freshly grinded coffee. Chocolate is nice, bakers chocolate, almost mocha like. Good vanilla, nice dark malts, lingering bitter finish.

M - Mouthfeel is the only real negative here. The body is very thin. Carbonation is fine but it's on the watery side.

O - Overall this was a rather surprisingly good beer. The coffee notes were excellent as was the base stout. Really wish this had more body but I guess they wanted it thin like a cup of coffee. Still, solid beer!
