Enjoyed at the Anniversary party.
A - Poured into an anniversary chalice a hazy copper hue with a thin white head that fades to leave to leave light wisps.
S - Aromas of huge red grapes and green apple skins. No real meridian Belgian notes or esters but the barrel notes are incredible.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with huge red grape notes. I get enormous apple brandy notes too. Big apple cider notes, lightly sweet.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, creamy, alcohol hidden well.
O - Overall this was a really solid beer with nice barrel qualities. Really think this is apple brandy though.

Draft at the brewery
Decent small fizzy head, dark murky auburn chestnut cold
Nose basically apple brandy and grape must, sweet candy malt syrupy reddish amber malts, little wood
Taste apple brandy and apple cider, grape skin must, candy sweet malts, little caramel, bitter hop notes and big apple skin, calvados like, mild alcohol, roasted apples, hint of of fig like esters, sweet candy finish
Mouth is med to fuller bod, touch syrupy, decent carb, touch of alcohol
Overall well, there is no base beer at all really, and this is def a calvados or apple brandy barrel not Madeira.
