We brewed this beer back in the spring (with the same yeast as MPL Pils) as was traditional in the 19th century before refrigeration. Pilsner, Munich, Vienna, and MA Wheat malts create a complex and smooth backbone. Medium bodied, rich malt character that is not cloyingly sweet due to kettle additions of German Hallertau hops.

Beautifully clear bronze color with a finger-and-a-hakf of short-lived, airy, off-white head. Zero lacing.
Clean aroma with some yeast, light toffee malt sweetness and distant toasted malt.
Sweeter tasting. The malt almost has a medicinal cherry kiss to it. A little more toasted malt, too. No bread or hop bitterness to speak of.
Medium bodied with just enough carbonation.
Decent enough, but a little too sweet to drink by the liter.

Pours a decent fizzy bubble 1 finger head that fades semi quickly, touch of lacing mostly clear honey orange tan color
Nose light overall but more malty, some Vienna or Munich like toasted sweet malt, little caramel note, grainy, touch of soft lager aroma with faint grassy hop
Taste starts more malty out front, big biscuity toasted grainy lager malts, mild sweet caramel toffee, good soft lager as well with a touch fruity and some grassy noble hops in the background, little earthy hop note too, again fairly light overall but good big malt profile. Dry crisp finish bit more grassy earthy hop bitterness
Mouth is med to lighter bod, soft lager, decent carb
Overall a pretty well done Oktoberfest for an American brewery, but I expect nothing less from Wormtown who knows how to do it right, and well lagered, nothing overboard and not a big sweet "American Oktoberfest" fall style beer, a lot more on point with the German ones.
