Draft at the brewery
Light fizzy dark head, mild retention and lacing, dark basically black with hint of light
Nose a idle solventy, fusel alcohol and whiskey, toasted buttery oak, mild dark roasty malts and dark chocolate, some bourbon vanilla
Taste more mild solventy characters, fusel alcohol and weird fruits coming from the solvent, mild dark chocolate and cocoa, little roast, spicy hop and burnt roast, medium bitterness, little Smokey char, light bourbon and barrel, sticky sweet finish lingering solvent perfumey alcohol and roasty cocoa malts
Mouth is med to fuller bod, tingly warming alcohol medium lighter carb
Overall not let down, solventy and really off, barrel didn't add much, didn't age well something went wrong

Enjoyed on tap at the brewery today for their ninth anniversary party.
A - Poured a nice brown almost black hue with a thin off white head that fades to leave light wisps and a thin halo.
S - Aromas of thin chocolate, soft bourbon notes. Good oaky vanilla characteristics. Flashes of bourbon and light roast malts.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with nice juicy bourbon, almost apple brandy notes. Nice oaky vanilla as well. The chocolate is almost syrupy.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, crisp, body is rather thin.
O - Overall this was a solid enough porter with nice faint barrel notes. Chocolate could pop more, and the body is thin.
