Thanks to rudzud for picking up, canned 5/21/20
Pours a med frothy white head with moderate retention, fair lacing, very hazy sediment laden but not cloudy, med golden color
Nose brings sweet malts and fruity hops, some candied stone fruit and sweet melon, cantaloupe and honeydew melon, a bit of a candied apricot, sweet generic pale malts
Taste brings sweet malts up front, basic candy like pale malts and a hint of sweet grainy malt, bit melon fruit, honeydew, cantaloupe, and a touch of watermelon, more candied stone fruit as well like apricot preserves, then bitterness kicks in like it should for American IPA but clashes a touch with the fruity flavors, but thankfully the sweetness balances a bit up front, less so on the finish though, which comes on like melon rind, bitter rind, a little pithy even late, drier but mild sweet finish, flash of alcohol
Mouth is med med, med-higher foamy carb
Overall not bad, glad to have an old school IPA with the bitterness, although it seemed to clash a bit with the big melon fruits, and had a slight "old IPA" kinda perception despite only being a month old.

Picked up a four pack of this at the brewery. Canned 5/21/20
A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a nice slightly hazy dark gold hue with a big, fat almost three finger white head that lasts forever and a day. Incredibly slow to slump but eventually does so leaving dense, rocky side lacing. This sucker reminds me of the old days of regular Be Hoppy back in 2010, which came out a little over 10 years ago today, in that the lacing back with that initial bottle run was simply wild.
S - Aromas of, well, Huell Melon. The citrus is super, super light and zesty. The Huell Melon hops though give the beer a very nice honeydew like aroma. Light, subtle fruitiness.
T - Taste is similar to the nose just far more intense. The finish is big Be Hoppy notes with pleasant citrus and pine bitterness. The start though is alllllll Heull Melon. Really intense honeydew melon notes galore, some muskmelon flavour as well with some pleasant berry like flavour, almost strawberry like. It's surprisingly intense; I've had plenty of beers with Heull Melon hops before but none that were this up from and assertive.
M - Mouthfeel was lightly carbonated, body a little on the thinner side. Not sure if it lost a good chunk of that carbonation which caused that massive head.
O - Overall this was a fun spin on the regular Be Hoppy. The mouthfeel was hands down the weakest part of this beer, and the nose didn't pop as much as I would have liked...the appearance and taste though were a real treat. Enjoyed this beer quite a bit, glad I have a few more in the fridge.
