Reviewed from notes.

Pour yields a dark amber-colored brew with a thin white head that recedes quickly without leaving much behind. The nose carries a bit of sweet bready malt as well as a bit of cinnamon. I was worried this would be overpowering, but it wasn't at all. Some brown sugar in the background. The taste combines sweet malt, brown sugar, mild fruit, and cinnamon quite well. Medium body and good carbonation. Light bourbon comes through in the finish, but is quite mellow and understated. Well done.

Had on tap @ Peppercorns in Worcester.

Light creamy head fades quickly over slightly hazy dark copper brown.

Nose of bourbon, sweet brown and red malts, light smoke and molasses, touch of caramelized brown sugar and slightest hint of cinnamon. Light earthy hops.

Taste has plenty of bourbon, light oak and woody ethers, semi sweet with more caramelized brown sugar, light molasses and brown malts, hint of a nice cinnamon. The cinnamon is done very well. Finishes slightly dry with l lingering syrupy sugar residue, some earthy hops coming through with a light bitterness and very light bourbon late.

Mouth is med bodied with decent carbonation.

Drinkabilty is pretty good, no real boozy taste, light sweetness, little residue of sugar on the finish, light hop bitterness and light and very well done on the cinnamon.

Wormtowns newest aged inebriation is a barrel (Utopiah) aged Elm Park Amber infused/aged with fresh cinnamon sticks. Wow, this is a really solid mix! Due to how new this is, I was unable to procure the ABV, but, this is definately stronger than the usual Elm Park (6.2%). Served in a snifter.

A - A dark, not quite crystal clear amber with a thin white head that leaves nice wisps atop the brew and some light side lacing. You can definately tell this is an aged amber just by looking at it.

S - There are some nice sweet malt aromas (not picking up anything toasted) along with a great oaky/earthy smell. A very, very subtle cinnamon aroma wafts up from the snifter which is balanced by a very fruity backnote. This much more intense fruitiness is presumably from that wonderful Utopiah barrel.

T - Light, sweet malts and just a hint of spice upfront. That cinnamon is just barely present. Right behind the malts is a very fruity flavour which for me, tastes like apples. Really big apple notes almost at the front and then completely filling the back. This flavour is like that initial bite into an appel just picked from the orchard. An unexpected but welcome flavour!

M - Low carbonation but very refreshing for a barrel aged.

D - This has some really coll flavours working for it. The alcohol from the barrel though is present a bit too much otherwise this would be given atleast another half a point!
