We took our Hopulence recipe, but you guessed it ... we swapped the hops! We wanted to keep the essence of one of our favorite DIPA's, so no expense was spared by brewing with a reckless abundance of hops. Once we start hopping this much, you really can't stop. The result of this recklessness is the first version of our hop swap.
Primary hops: IDAHO 7, YQH 1320, EKUANOT

Hop Swap 2023
Wormtown Brewery IPA-Imperial / Double
Yeah, so, maybe the best Wormtown brew I've had. The hop combo is brutal and deep saturation. Floral, pine, grapefruit, and earthy makes it very deep and well-rounded. 9.0%abv seems just about right for the balance. 3 hops that need more exploration.

Pours an amber color with a big, frothy head. I don't get much from the aroma - kind of malty at best. I can't say I love this beer, there's something about the hop profile that I just don't care for but I'm not able to identify which hop it is, or if it'd just the combination of the different hops. There's also an underlying sweetness that i don't like - it's not cloying or anything but I think the beer would be a lot better if it was crisper and lacking that sweetness. I picked up a 4 pack but I probably won't be buying anymore.
