A refreshing Kolsch. Drinkable and easy on the pallet. Light hops, with hints of floral. A light beer with slightly malty aftertaste and notes of fruit.

Canned 2024/04/16
Pours a large foamy airy head with fair retention, a bit of lacing, clear golden pale color

Nose light malt notes, citrus, mild summer beer spice notes like coriander, grains of paradise maybe, etc, very very light hop

Taste brings more light malt notes, into the citrus like a sweet tamed citrus, more coriander spice and other summer spices, touch of general hop bitterness, very light summery beer that reminds me of those macro made ones

Mouth is lighter bod, med to higher frothy carb

Overall this was not made for the craft beer community, I believe it was made for the masses to sell at the various ball parks and other major venues they are in, but for general craft beer it's fairly mediocre

On tap at River Road Tavern
Hazy golden orange color with a thin white head that quickly dissipates, Bready crackery maltiness with bits of fruit earth and spice. Not bad.

Wormtown Brewery "Beach Fix"
16 fl. oz. can "PKGD: 04/22/24" and sampled on 05/24/24

Notes via stream of consciousness: A mostly clear light golden body is capped by a finger's width of white foam. The aroma is clean and offers some lightly floral hops and a delicate hint of fruitiness over a softly grainy malt base. The taste follows the aroma and I'm impressed that it's so well brewed. The malt is grainy, grassy, and a touch bready. The hops aren't completely traditional as there's a touch of citrus to it but that's fine by me. I know that Gaffel has branched out quite a bit in terms of hops and I wouldn't be surprised if some of the other Köln breweries start as well. A moderate bitterness balances it nicely and leaves it dry enough in the finish that you're ready for another sip. Some mild apple and non-descript citrus lingers shortly. It's medium bodied and crisp as expected. All in all it's quite a nice beer that's both refreshing and satiating at the same time.
