Had on tap at peppercorns.
Creamy 1/2 finger head fades at a med pace with nice sticky lacing, super hazy rosy reddish orange murky color.
Nose has maple right off, then interesting Belgian yeast additions, light esters, bit fruity, and a hint of a tart cherry like fruit as well as apple and other typical Belgian yeast fruits. Light reddish caramel almost toasty malts round it off.
Taste starts with muted Belgian golden malts and yeast as it starts cold. As it warms more of the Belgian yeast with light saison like spices, plenty of esters and a bit of booze with light phenols and fruity flavors. Hint of tart cherry like fruit, pear, apple, etc. Also a light sweet malty backbone with hints of caramel malts and little toasty. Maple finally comes through late on the finish, bringing a bit of bitterness as well, quite dry but sticky, earthy spicy hops seem to come through although briefly, bit more lingering booze and esters.
Mouth is med bodied, decent warming and tingly booze, good carb.
Overall tasty but can't drink a lot. The Belgian yeast really takes over with the fruit, spices, esters, and big booze kick. A light earthy spicy hop finish is different as well. The booze and esters make it tough to drink a lot. More like a Belgian strong ale.

A collaboration with Amherst Brewing Company and Northampton Brewery. This has 26a IBUs and was brewed with 5 gallons of grade B maple syrup from Ewen's Sleepy Hollow Sugarhouse in Lunenburg, MA and toasted hard maple staves. Used 12 types of malt and two types of Belgian yeasts. Served in a standard tulip.
A - Poured a hazy cloudy hazelnut with a one finger off white creamy head that fades to leave a nice halo and cloud.
S - Wow this has some maple to it for sure. Lots of nice sweet malts and candy along with maple syrup/candy/fudge. Very nice maple aromas here not too intense but clearly maple with a hint of Belgian yeasts/spice notes on the end along with a super subtle booze.
T - Taste is of sweet malts up front that flows to an almost maple bubblegum taste. Maple is quite nice and faint and with the malts there is also a maple oatmeal like taste. Alcohol isn't present at all which is impressive. The Belgian yeasts lend a very nice fruitioness to this beer almost like a banana. Finish is slightly sweet and malty with a lingering toastyness.
M - Nice full mouthfeel with a sought dry finish. Again none of this alcohol present...wow.
O - Overall I was again impressed by this Belgian offering from the guys at Wormtown. I love all the breweries involved in this beer and together they make something quite tasty.
