On gap at Peppercorns. Poured into a standard snifter.
A - Poured a deep dark oily black with a creamy mocha one finger head that fades to leave a nice creamy cloud and thick halo and light side lacing.
S - Aromas of chocolate and whammy, chili's. This is a chili heads wet beer dream. Fragrant earthy roasty spicy chili peppers.
T - There is a nice chocolate profile in this but the chili pepper dominates the pallet. Spice upfront that warms through the middle to a lingering smokey dry chili pepper finish. Long and withdrawn but never too hot, atleast for my tastes.
M - Mouthfeel is slightly on the thin side, and the chili peppers possibly affect the creaminess of the base beer. Great lingering chili pepper notes in my mouth and throat but a bit too crisp of a stout for my liking.
O - Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this beer! As a chili head I'm constantly seeking the heat and when this beer was announced I couldn't wait to try it. Worth the wait. Goddamn I love wormtown beers. Another one that doesn't disappoint.

Tap at peppercorns
fluffy darker colored head fades semi slowly, pitch black beer.
Nose mostly malts but gets a bit of hot pepper, bit of cocoa, hint of roast, malty.
Taste mostly spicy chili, hot, chili somewhat overpowers most of the beer bit not completely, then dark malts, stout, chocolate, cocoa, etc. hint of bitterness. Finish lingers with some hot pepper but not a lot, builds a bit, bit of cocoa and hint of roast fades.
Mouth is med to heavier bodied, dec carb.
Overall really nice great addition of the pepper that gets hot but doesn't overpower.

This beer poured out as a black color with a tan colored head on top. The smell of the beer had a little bit of everything. There was some coffee, malts and cocoa on the nose. The taste of the beer had a light chocolate flavor to it with a touch of vanilla with the peppery heat coming in at the end. The mouthfeel was pretty good, had a thicker body to it and stuff with a moderate carbonation. Overall it was above average in my opinion but didn't really impress me too much in the long run.
