Had on tap at the otherside- poured a dark ruby color, relatively clear, great 1.5 finger hear with decent retention and beautiful sticky lacing.

Smells very hoppy- sharp piney hops (I'm assuming centennial) and nice sharp rye scent.

Taste is consistent with smell- sharp rye flavor with a nice caramel malt backbone. Piney hops ride over the malt and mix with the rye to finish pretty bitter and slightly dry.

Mouthfeel is exceptional- medium body with moderate carbonation and a little oily from the hops. Magnificent- if you're a hophead, seek this out!

Tap at peppercorns

Light fizzy head disperses quickly, hazy ruby maroon color, hint of light.

Nose is unique, lots of tropical fruit, and interesting barley malts, caramel and toffee, some fruity and spicy rye, and an earthy spicy hop underneath, nice and complex.

Taste starts with chewy malts and hops, barley again but takes a back seat to the hops that bring spicy earthy chewy hops but not wicked bitter, a nice bitterness, a bit of pine and chewy spicy hops really ramp but then fade to light citrus fruity hops, hint of tropical fruit. Then malts, bit of caramel and toffee, copper malts, then light spicy fruity rye. finish gets a more bitter as the hops rise again, spicy hop finish with a bit of sticky syrupy malts and some spicy rye all linger.

Mouth is heavier bodied, decent carb, very light warming booze.

Overall pretty nice, hops get a bit much but then fade, I would have liked a bit more of the malts but otherwise tasty beer.

On tap at the Horseshoe Pub in Hudson MA.

This beer poured a dark clear aber body with a white head.

Nose is typical hoppy rye ale.

Taste is medium bodied but up a notch with an immediate huge malt, hop and rye attack. Wow! Bitter and piney and bready and tons of rye malt. Its so big and so perfectly balanced. Bready and fruity and very clean. Hops are in your face, and again, soooo well balanced. Bitterness is big and a little over the top, but works perfectly against the spicy rye malt.

Most wormtowns I've had in the past are out of balance but big, but this.. this is easily the best beer I've had from them if not one of the best rye ales. Spicy, hoppy, malty, fruity. Wow! I'll have another.

On tap at the Union Brewhouse in Weymouth.

A deep dark murky red-brown with a medium sized head that doesnt have too mich retention. Some lacing is left after sips.

S sweet citrus hops with almost a watermelon or pineapple. Some spocy rye but definitely sweeter nose

T lots of hops here. Citrus is all over the place, sweet and bitter grapefruit, pineapple, pine, orange zest amd surprisingly watermellon again. Rye bite in the middle with some light candied sugar.

M medium feel with similar carb. Feels how you want a hoppy citrusy beer should feel for a day of drinking in the sun.

O really inpressed with this beer. Imtetesting flavor and moutjfeel is really nice

Enjoyed on tap at Peppercorns on Wormtown's second year anniversary party. This beer is 90+ IBUs and was poured into a standard snifter.

A - Poured a hazy reddish garnet hue with a creamy half a finger head that fades to leave a nice creamy halo, blanket, and good side lacing.

S - Aromas of light spicy rye with big strong hops. Big light floral but assertive strong grapefruits. Very inviting and full of dank hops.

T - Nice clean crisp hops on this really jumps out. Good sweet malts and spicy rye. This is full of wet danky hops. Great pine and citrus in this.

M - Mouthfeel is very nice for this ABV. Creamy, lightly carbonated very drinkable for an imperial red rye.

O - Overall while I enjoyed last years better this was still a tasty beer. Glad to try it and enjoy the style. A good beer for an anniversary!
