Tap at Peppercorns.
Pours a fizzy 1/2 finger head that fades fairly quickly, no real lacing, over semi hazy orange tan color.
Nose is light, but adds some golden malts, a bit belgian like, light bock fruits, fairly fruity overall, sweetness.
Taste starts semi sweet, plenty of bock like flavors, fruity, wheat, malts, caramel, maple, etc. light whiskey and bourbon barrel, today buttery barrel, bright stone fruit. A light earthy hop comes through on the back end and gets slightly biter on the finish, which dries, a bit sticky, lingering bittering hops, and golden malts, as well as some bock fruits and a light buttery toasty whisky barrel.
Mouth is med bodied, feels like it should have some booze but doesn't quite get there.
Overall not bad, interesting blend of maibock and barrel with light whisky, nice flavor profile, bit light on the nose, but drinkable. Feels like out should be 9% abv but never gets there.

So this is a barrel aged maibock huh? This beer is a collaboration with Zok from Zok's Homebrew in Willimantic, CT. Brewed with pilsner, Vienna, and Munich malts and aged in the jd barrels used for Tennessee tats. Poured into a standard tulip.
A - Poured a crystal clear honey copper with a one finger head that leaves thin halo and light clouding. This is barrel aged?
S - Aromas of sweet malts and light oak/vanilla. And I mean light. Slightly carmelly with a very slight spicy, almost in a rye sense, hop finish.
T - Wow this is rather different. So I get lots of oak barrel and vanilla along with definite faint, fleeting Tennessee tats notes of chocolate and whiskey. Gotta love barrels. Nice and Malthus with a slight peppery hop finish. The whole Tennessee barrel style flavour really throws me for a loop.
M - Mouthfeel is not that bad for a maibock. Quite drinkable though maybe slightly on the thin side. The barrel notes aren't that prominent in the mouth. The faint teases though makes me crave a big, heavy beer.
O - Overall this beer kind of falls between two styles. Its a very unique maibock that's for sure. I like what the barrel brings but would like it to be a bit stronger, as that's my own personal whiskey preference. Another interesting wormtown brew.
