2011 bottle. Ruddy brown reddish in color. Cloudy, almost turbid in appearance. Very malty. Dubbel like. Earthy sweet malts, caramel and nuts. A bit on the oxidized side.

Very deep ruby red color. Nice head. Malty aroma with a nice level of fruitiness. Flavor is all about the malt here. Big ole malt bomb with a great fruity balance. Do not know if there is fruit in here but sure comes off like it. Sweet cherries. Sticky, sweet malt. Not a trace of alcohol-had no idea this was 13%. Very solid, almost thick mouthfeel. Just a great beer all in. Was overwhelming at first. Had to enjoy in 2 sittings. Well worth waiting on if you can find a bottle. Felt like it was a bit young but still a killer brew.

I love every Element Brewing company beer that they have made. I have been a big fan of the Red Giant for a long time now. The Double Red / 6:56 2011 was somewhat different.
The pour was a bit darker, between a ruby pour and the darker element. There was no question about fruit aromas. The hop flavors were more like the regular red giant, perhaps the malt overload was where the fruitness came from?
The initial taste was spectacular, very enjoyable, as well as the finish.
Serving type: bottle from the brewery, best christmas present ever!

After having this casked, I was eager to try the bottled version. After a rough day at work, it was definitely welcome. And finally, an Element beer that I could take the cork out of without a major struggle. Great beers, guys, but you have to work to get to them.
This beer was a deep amber in color, clear and with a half finger head. The head did not last too long - not as long as the casked.
Aroma was loaded with rich fruity malt, heavy on the figs. Light citrusy hops were present, but overwhelmed by the malt.
Taste - this is a malt bomb. Strong and rich, full of dark fruits. There is a lingering bitterness, but the aftertaste goes sweet quite quickly and is loaded with fruitiness.
Mouthfeel is really thick and syrupy - it coats the tongue. It's not bad, but it takes a little getting used to.
Overall a good beer, although I preferred the casked version.
