From the bottle, it pours a clear golden amber with a modest head, which leaves lacing as you enjoy the beer. It is also replenished with a constant stream of bubbles from the bottom. Modest scent in the nose, primarily grains. Taste follows nose in the light malt flavor. A well made beer!

Poured from a half litre bottle.
A: On the darker side of Helles, clear, medium thick
head which didn’t make much of an effort at staying around, moderate lacing.
S: Pleasant noble hop Spalt or Tentnagner?
T: Followed the nose, very grassy with
hoppy bitterness, bready sour dough like finish.
M: Carbonation was slightly aggressive, fairly crisp texture, body slightly thicker than expected.
O: Not at all what I thought it would be, when I saw Urstoff I expected a slightly in your face
Export style but this was very much noble Pils.

Purchased two bottles from Kaufmanns in Bamberg, Germany.
.5L bottle served in a tall lager glass.
A- Clear, Straw color with a two finger head but not a lot of retention. Mild lacing.
S- Relatively neutral with a touch of hops.
T- Very slight maltiness and distinct hops. Mildly bitter at the end but this is a very neutral tasting Helles.
M- Mild boy, medium carbonation, very crisp.
D- This is a pretty drinkable beer. Slightly above average for the style, but much better beers available in Bamberg.
