64 oz growler poured into a snifter.
7.6% ABV

A - Dark, dark brown in color, ruby highlights show the beer as not quite clear. Topped with a light khaki head, the disappearing foam leaves little lace in it's wake, retiring to a loosely packed ring of bubbles.

S - Big, bold Brett rears it's funky head with barnyard aromatics that don't completely overtake the beer but instead, compliment the base English Old Ale and add faint acidity. Musty basement funk perfectly melds with the dry and earthy tones of the malt profile while notes of dark, bitter chocolate, prunes, and molasses suggestions enter on the finish.

T - Heavy malt dominates the flavor at first, opening with sweet caramel and notes of toffee while Vienna-like toast and rich Munich body insert themselves. Dry molasses and a sprinkle of brown sugar follow through before the Brett funk washes over, covering the beer in light horse blanket and damp straw for a beautifully blended outcome.

M - Smooth maltiness occupies the tongue with an overall sweetness through the course of the beer but upon the finish one will find wild Brett yeast adds a layer of tartness and dry complexity to the mouthfeel for a stellar appeal.

O - Vintage Brettish Reserve takes two drastically different styles, each with polarizing characteristics, and blends them together flawlessly. The base Old Ale's malty sweetness lends itself well to balance the tart, almost sourness of the Brett yeast's wild funk, each playing off one another through and through!
