On-tap at Three Cellars, Franklin, WI:

Pours almost pitch black with a creamy head that leaves lacing.

The smell is of rich, robust coffee.

The taste is of rich coffee. As it warms chocolate is added in (even even a hint of toffee as it progresses). It finishes with strong coffee roast that lingers.

The body and the light carbonation give it a silky smooth texture.

This is a stout that is chock full of coffee. Robust and delicious, this is a coffee (and beer) lover's delight!

On-tap at Vintage on Madison's West Side. Poured into a shaker pint today, 3/31/2014.

App- Looks the part of an American stout. Dark black body, half finger tan head with solid retention. Not much lacing.

Smell- Straight up freshly ground black coffee aromas. Reminds me a lot of O'so's Indonesian Coffee Night Train. Not subtle nor is it complex, but it's very enjoyable.

Flavour- A ton of Sumatran coffee, not much else. Would have liked more presence from the dark malts. Minimal roast, no chocolate. All coffee. Not complex, but can't deny that it tastes quite good.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied, good carbonation, very easy to drink. Despite the fullness of the coffee flavor, it is not a bitter beer. Very good.

Overall- A one-note stout, but as I'm a big coffee drinker, the one-note is very much appreciated. Very drinkable coffee stout, I'd have liked more of the base stout characteristics to show through.
