A collaboration by Vintage Brewing Co. and Lion's Tail Brewing Co. Labelled as a Belgian-style black ale brewed with Door County cherries and hand crafted Belgian style candy sugar. Hand crafted and bottled at Vintage Brewing in Madison, WI.
Served from 22 oz bottle into glass at home. Pours jet black, with small short lived light tan head. Aroma consists primarily of cherries. Very little malt aroma and no hops detectable. Flavor is more cherries with a dark roasted malt backbone. Medium body with semi sweet finish and very low bitterness. No alcohol flavor detectable. Overall this beer definitely delivers on the cherry promise, but there is not a lot of Belgian quality discernible. No obvious yeast derived flavors, not especially full bodied or highly alcoholic. Still, this is a tasty beer with no obvious flaws and lots of cherry flavor.
