Tempered yet optimistic expectations, as this new brewpub opened in place of an old favorite, albeit monstrously headache inducing, stomping ground
Filtered copper pour into a pint glass
Unmistakable whiffs of Simcoe and a Hawaiian punch fruitiness
Oh yeah, she's bitter. Upfront fruitiness and a bitter barrage that continues from front to back. Slight malt presence is repelled by the pleasant abrasiveness.
Overall, a nice effort. But, I prefer my IPA's a bit more rough and tumble. A refined effort that may appease the masses. I am, however, thankful for the potential of a new pub close to home.
