Dark beer lovers rejoice! Our pitch black stout is packed with the rich malt flavors of chocolate, caramel, molasses and espresso and is brewed with a large portion rolled oats for a well-rounded, "chewy" mouthfeel. Hearty and robust, Scaredy Cat is no scrawny little kitty. Scaredy Cat is great with our beer-battered fish and chips or oatmeal stout pot roast!

12oz can, adhesive label. Stamped date code on label is '25268'.
Black colored body with a mahogany brown colored back lit edge. One finger of tan colored head, which recedes to islands and a thin ring. Leaves behind scattered small lacing spots.
Aroma of dark roasted malts, with oatmeal - dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, and molasses.
Taste is dark roasted malts and bitter, with flavors of dark roast coffee, char, dark chocolate, molasses, and a bit of vanilla. All continue to be bitter in the aftertaste.
More than medium mouthfeel. Smooth and chewy texture. Okay carbonation.
Bitterness is prominent with this one.

Poured from an undated 12-oz can gifted me by my Minnesotan son-in-law into a pint glass.
Look: Dark brown — nearly black — with a massive dark tan head with good retention reducing to a foam cap and adequate lacing.
Nose: Some nutty, dark roast.
Attack: Rich dark roast, dark chocolate, and coffee, all with just the right hint of sweetness.
Finish: Just enough bitterness to balance.
Mouthfeel: Thick and creamy, near perfect carbonation.
Overall: An excellent, well-balanced oatmeal stout. Perfect, for instance, in the morning when you don’t want something with quite as much horsepower as a Founders Breakfast Stout. It’s deserving of the medals it’s won.

On tap at the brewery. Good example of the style. Chocolate and espresso as expected. Not alcohol forward would drink again and will seek out six packs.

Roasty oatmeal stout. Semi creamy mouthfeel, not too sweet (actually pretty dry and coffee like). Would buy again.

Bought a 6-Pac. Allowed to warm the 55 degrees. Pours very dark, about a half inch head that soon disappeared. Very nice notes of roasted malts, with coffee overtones. Smooth finish. A very drinkable stout.

Had on tap. Pour rich black with tan head. Smells of dark chocolate, malt, coffee and caramel. Taste is not as sweet, with oat and espresso creating a nice balance. Nice beer, have had worse and better
