"Taifun" (Typhoon). 4.4% ABV. 33cl bottle acquired in Zurich, Switzerland, and served into a generic drinking glass. Reviewed from notes taken June 2010.
A: Pours a one finger head of no real cream, okay thickness, and poor retention. Body colour is a cloudy yellow.
Sm: Ginger and lemon. A mild strength aroma.
T: Gingery but not overly so; it avoids a common fault of ginger-spiced beers in that sense. Simple but pleasant and refreshing. Balanced and enjoyable.
Mf: Smooth and wet. Complements the flavour profile.
Dr: Pretty average, but a decent example of the style. Very affordable by Swiss standards. I might revisit this one if I get curious about the style sometime. It's an interesting take, in any case - and worth a try for that reason.
