This wheat ale is straw coloured and wheat malted. “Cayuse Wheat Ale” is lightly hopped, crisp and refreshing. A great re- fresher on a hot Okanagan day—or any day for that matter.

This beer is part of a triumvirate of beers (this, the Mexican Lager, and the Draft Lager) that I had on a sunny Penticton evening, while trying to avoid the din of the UFC match and its teeming followers, which had very similar appearance characteristics - so similar, that I could only find one way of truly differentiating them. I'll get to that.
This beer, served with a lemon wedge, appears a clear pale straw colour, with one finger of soapy white head, and a small ring of lace. It has the slowest effervescence of the three - yup, that's all I could find. It smells of weak wheat grain, and some faint dusty hops. The taste is soft wheat malt, and mild weedy hops. The carbonation is on the low side, the body soft and fairly smooth, and it finishes clean, with a slight spicy wheatiness.
Overall, a pretty tame wheat ale, light and adequate for a sunny patio's quaffing requirements.
