The Barley Mill's summer seasonal, 2010.
This beer appears a clear pale copper colour, with one finger of off-white soapy head, and a bit of webbed lace. It smells of light honeyed grain, and floral hops. The taste is mild earthy honey, sweet barley malt, and floral, meadowy, weed. The carbonation is moderate, the body light, and a bit prickly, and it finishes clean and crisp, with some more fragrant summer field essence.
Having grown up in southern Alberta, the smell of clover takes me back there, especially in summer time, to the hot, musty, sweet scent of carefree youth. Nice to rediscover an analogue of that from a brewpub offering in the Okanagan, years later.
