Had on tap.
A- Pours a deep hazed golden yellow color with hint of very light orange. One finger white head shows great retention. Tons of thick sticky lace that clumps together on the sides of the glass.
S- This is a typical smelling tripel which I like a lot. Banana and clove are mixed between a pale malt and sugary notes here and there. Hints of cinnamon in this as well which I found to be a little interesting. A lot of bubblegum like notes to toward the ending. Alcohol smells sweet but is very much out there. I like it!
T- Once again this one sticks out flavor wise. Banana comes out in the front along with a little citrus and yeast. There is a light hint of some sort of dark fruit but it only lasts for a second before clove and pale malt take over. Banana comes out once again in the ending along with some sugary alcohol notes. Bubblegum makes an appearance in the final seconds of the beer before a warming alcohol heat finished the overall flavor.
M- Medium heavy mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the style. Banana and bubblegum are left on the palate. Aftertaste has a warming alcohol along with banana and bubblegum. Flavors were overall balanced quite nicely. No real off flavors were present which I didn't expect. High alcohol drying on the palate.
O- I think this is Figure 8's best work to date. A really drinkable Tripel even with the huge ABV. I would like to see this be a once in a while bomber only release. Please Tom??
