Poured from a bomber into a snifter. This was released in May 2015, and the bottle says it was aged 4 months.
Appearance: Pours almost black and leaves a finger of light tan head that slowly fades to a layer around the glass. (4.25)
Smell: Big roasted malts, vanilla, hazelnuts, some dark chocolate, toffee. (4.25)
Taste: Big milk chocolate, vanilla, hazelnuts, roasted malts, oak. Really well balanced. Very drinkable for something with so much big flavor. Actually a similar profile to BCBS but way more drinkable. (4.5)
Mouth-feel: Medium to thick body with medium carbonation. Creamy. Pretty nice feel. (4.5)
Overall: This one surprised and impressed me. I'd love to have this one around in the winter to grab now and then. The barrel lends a significant amount to the profile which is chocolately, mildly oaky with some vanilla. (4.5)
