Black, almost opaque, light penetrates the edges, doesn't look thick, looks like a porter, minimal head
Aroma is a Bourbon punch in the nose. Other smells try to push through, especially as it warms, semi-sweet chocolate, vanilla, caramel, oak
Tastes Bourbon-y. Wow. Booze soaked raisins, booze soaked pears, some cocoa, vanilla, oak. Aftertaste is warm, sugary, maple perhaps?
Feels medium bodied, smooth, little carbonation
Aged 10 months in freshly emptied Bourbon barrels from Kentucky, and that's what it tasted like. Not very stout-like, not much maple, but I thought it was very satisfying.
