Bought at the Beer Shop in East Longmeadow. Bottled on 12/5/2016, so I am assuming its the 2016 series of this beer. The beer pours with a jet black appearance and a thin brown head. Aromas include a sharp vanilla wrapped in a warm, woody smell of caramel and sugars. Taste follows the nose to highlight an excellent taste of high booze like rum or bourbon with chocolates, dark fruits, and vanilla. Really smooth mouthfeel helps to make this a sharp, but creamy textured drink. Overall, this is outstanding, especially in taste and mouthfeel.

L. Black, opaque, almost headless.
S. Big Bourbon, cocoa, vanilla, sugar, hot chocolate, hint of warm caramel apple pie. Interesting.
T. Bourbon, lots of wood, warm vanilla, chocolate malt, ripe pears, caramel apples, brandy. Warm and chocolaty malty aftertaste.
F. Medium body, very smooth, warm and boozy.
O. Very nice. Rich and flavorful, big barrel influence. Cheers!
